Are you thirsty? No problem. Just get up off your chair and walk 10 steps to the nearest water faucet, where at the slightest flick of your hand, gushing clear water awaits for you to drink to your heart's content. Drink some. Sit back down. Maybe even take the miracle of clean water whenever you want for granted. Then there's the 6 year old Ugandan girl. Today she'll trek for miles beneath a scorching sun, with a large canteen strapped to her back. She missed school today, along with the 20 girls beside her, and she probably won't be attending for a while, but right now that's the least of her worries. They're walking toward a water source, a dirty one, but the only one around. Then comes the return, just as long. The water they bring back must suffice for an entire village, 60% of which have become sick with water-borne illnesses. They know the water's unsafe. But this is all they have. They deserve more than this reality, and you have the power to change it. Just one well will bring health, just one well will allow these girls to pursue an education, just one well will bring smiles to the faces of so, so many people who had dreamed of clean water. Just one well can help renew life. Donate what you can, every dollar counts. Hand in hand, we can help those that need it the most. We can make a difference in the lives of others, that's what truly counts.
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
