Hey, I'm Anna. Because I live in the U.S., I have water right at my hands all the time. I can take a shower, flush a toilet, and drink endless amounts of water without even caring, but not everyone can. Here's the problem, about 1 billion people in the world do not have access to clean water. That's 1 in every 8 people!!!! More then 3.41 million people die every year from water sanitation and hygiene- related causes. I would have never known this, if I wasn't challenged at a camp this last summer to drink tap water for 6 months to raise awareness for this need, but now I am glad I do. I wan't to have some part in changing this. This is something so much bigger than me. I start my challenge September 10 and end on March 10. I know I can do this, because God is helping me every step of the way!!! I never thought I would be so pumped to give up soda, coffee, tea, smoothies, and everything else, but I am thrilled to help someone in need. Acts 20:35 says "In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said,'It is more blessed to give than to recieve.'" So I hope you will help me too. :) - Anna

Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.

Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
