Help Fund a Water Project
Before Joel was deployed to Afghanistan, we attended a mission Sunday at our church in Wilmington. Someone spoke about the water crisis happening around the globe. Since water is so readily accessible here in America, I never realized that over 3.4 million people die each year because of water related diseases. Having recently been blessed with the birth of Saylor, the facts really struck a chord with me. Many of the people dying are innocent children. I could never imagine not being able to offer Saylor clean water to drink and bathe in. It breaks my heart to hear of so many mothers losing their children because of the basic need for water. When I went on Semester at Sea, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and volunteer with many children around the world. I realized that today many of them could be burdened with this simple need. Since Joel is away serving our country on the opposite end of the globe, I wanted to do something back home to make a difference as well. Please join me in my campaign to underwrite a water project and bring clean water to those in need!

Why It Matters
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
