So I stumbled across this page on a bolg a read, and instantly got inspired. The Water Project is an organization that raises funds to help put clean water wells in Countries of need. Once the goal is reached, you can watch your money be put to work in real time. They post live video of the well being built, and the lives that it changes. SO I got to thinking, I know some pretty awesome people, 470 which I have on my facebook account. If 400 of my awesome friends on that list donate to this cause it will only cost each of us $16.25!!!! Thats only 3 less drinks at the bar, or 2 Starbucks coffees, or 325 5 cent candies (ok bad example but you get the point).

-Nearly one billion people have no access to clean, safe water. The dirty water they do have makes them sick. It robs children of hope. But it doesn't have to be that way.
-We know that access to clean, safe water changes lives.
-We know that when a well is installed for a village, girls return to school. --Women begin small businesses. Men are no longer too sick to work. -Fields are watered and food supply becomes more reliable. Health returns and children grow up to be productive members of their community. The cycle of poverty is broken. Lives change.

Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.

Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
