A child dies every 15 seconds from a lack of clean water. 115 people die every hour from diseases linked to poor sanitation, poor hygiene and contaminated water.
As followers of Christ, those numbers should destroy us. What is our response to the reality that millions of people are dying per year due to such a preventable cause? Is it indifference? Will you read the above statistics, be momentarily bothered, then continue on with your afternoon? Or will you respond to the need, like the Good Samaritan in Luke 10? Will your love take action, or will it remain stagnate? If we can collectively decide that we will no longer stand idly by while our brothers and sisters die of thirst, what are the possibilities? Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
