Help Fund a Water Project
I was washing my 20th load of laundry it seemed one day and I thought I need to get in the shower but first I think I'll wash dishes. I looked at the dog's bowl and saw it needed filling. Then a feeling of complete gratitude and blessing came over me. It occured to me how blessed we are in the United States to so easily be able to just jump in the shower daily and have clean safe water in our homes. I thought about a little boy that was just 7 years old and everyday he and his father would get up at 4:00am or 5:00am in the morning to walk up the mountain where they lived about 10miles round trip, to bring water to the the school where he was going, everyday so that the other students would also have water. What hugh responsibility of such a young boy. It made me weep. I decided we can get involved. I think it is also a great way to teach our childern about the example set for us by Christ's love and giving to help others. Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
