Water affects us much more than we think it does. We shower, wash our clothes and dishes, flush our toilets, drink from water fountains. We use clean water to grow healthy crops. Water has a rippling effect on all of our lives.

But dirty water has a devastating effect on BILLIONS of lives. It not only brings disease and illness to billions of people, but it also leads to poverty, lack of education and famine. Nearly one billion people do not have access to clean water; That's an EIGHTH of all the people on the planet. The closest water sources to many villages are miles away, and therefore the people of the village, including young children, are forced to spend hours and hours of each day walking to find and transport water that is dirty. They have no time to farm or work, and children are forced to forego an education because they are walking to get water that makes them sick and kills a child every FIFTEEN SECONDS. Children aren't the only ones dying and poor health makes it hard to work. So you see, dirty water makes this big circle, this rippling effect, on billions of lives. I can bore you with statistics and facts that you can find on this website or a number of other ones. But I am able to take a clean shower, wash my hands whenever I want, use a toilet, go to school every day, and most importantly, not worry that something as simple as water is gong to kill me. I want to give back now. I want all of you to give back. I have been blessed with a wonderful, gifted life. And so now I ask you to give these people a chance to have the same.
