The children of Kid City Summer camp have taken on this service project to learn about the ways different areas of the world use water and to experience the joy of helping those who are in need.
During camp each child will have the opportunity each day to choose whether to drink water only, rather than lemonade or Kool-Aid for lunch. For each day that a child chooses to drink water only, we will donate 25 cents of our camp funds to the Water Project. We are also inviting our campers' families and the Carrollton Avenue church congregation, host of our summer camp, to join us.
After just one day, our campers have raised 16.25. We hope to reach our goal by the end of camp on July 14th.
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
