We should never take anything in life for granted. Here in the United States, fresh water is usually the least of our worries. We come home after a long day to a home with a faucet to provide us with fresh water when we need it. We use it to cook, to clean, to bathe in and to drink. We even tend to get a little wasteful with our infinite water supply. But what if one day, all of our crystal clear water just disappeared? We would have to find other ways to reach the water and to do our best with what we could find. For us, this is far from a reality, but for the people of Uganda, this is merely an everyday issue. They either drink the polluted water near them, or walk miles to find a cleaner source. How far could you walk with a couple gallons of water? My guess is not very far before you would tire and get bored. For Ugandans, there is no exhaustion or boredom. Water is a means of life; without it, they cannot survive. A closer, easier to reach source of clean, fresh water would be a complete blessing to them. That's why I am asking you to contribute toward bringing water to a Ugandan town through My Water Project; because water is a basic necessity of life and no one should be denied the right to survive.
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
