Mission Statement

The Fever Relief Fund (FRF) provides educational and athletic programs geared towards nurturing excellence, building essential values and developing
leadership potential among the youth in developing countries.

Objectives

Our goal is to increase active participation in sports and extra-curricular educational activities among young people,
especially those who are endowed with abilities but who may lack resources. FRF is committed to responsible giving and social investment in
developing countries such as Ghana where young people are often saddled with
the responsibility of working petty jobs to supplement their parents’ income,
or simply turn to crime. FRF will hence work to reduce the financial burdens facing
the youth as they progress within their chosen sport, recreational activities
and educational /professional goals

III. Project Objectives and Activity
Description

Fever
Relief Fund and Quazi Consulting Group proposes to implement the Water for
local villages and school project that will provide potable water and sanitation
management training to 15 communities of the Ashanti Krobo Region. In seven of
these communities, wells will be either constructed or rehabilitated. These
projects will be aimed at reducing water-borne diseases affecting these under-privileged
communities.

The
project’s objectives are:

Objective 1: To increase access to potable
water in targeted communities

Activities:

·
Construct five new hand-dug covered wells
equipped with rope pumps. Fever Relief
Fund will work with its local partners to identify the ten communities where
wells will be constructed based on selection criteria. For instance, only
communities who listed well digging and water and sanitation activities on
their community action plan will be selected as construction sites. Other
criteria will include a high level of community engagement and population
coverage.

·
Rehabilitate two existing wells and equip them
will rope pumps. In two of the district’s communities where wells already
exist, the proposed project will install rope pumps to these wells. In addition
to pump installation, rehabilitative measures will include disinfection through
chlorination, strengthening of the permanent lining, and installation of the
well cover and apron for water protection.

Objective 2: To strengthen the capacity of
communities to manage water points

Activities
Assist the communities in the establishment of
water and sanitation committees in communities where the project’s five new
wells are constructed. Quazi Consulting Group committees will be formed early
in the planning stages to ensure the community is involved in the
decision-making process. This committee will be empowered to make decisions
regarding all aspects of the project, including: the location of the wells, the
method of construction, whether the initial contribution should consist of cash
and/or labor, the method of collection for monthly water fees, the method of payment
for any repairs and maintenance, and the daily maintenance and cleanliness of
the system.

Train Quazi Consulting Group committees at each
of the project’s seven community wells equipped with rope pumps through a
training workshop. The purpose of this workshop is to ensure that every member
of the Quazi Consulting Group possesses the knowledge and skills to effectively
carry out his duties. Topics covered during the workshop will include: water
fund management and reporting, accountability of the community water fund, pump
maintenance and repairs.

Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

About The Water Project

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.

Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
