Help Fund a Water Project

Together, we can unlock potential in a developing community by providing clean, safe water.
Fundraiser

*********** Update: December 2016 - Theatre for the World once again helped raise an additional $1650 for clean water which when combined with other donors helped Rosterman Secondary School get clean water and new latrines! Thank you Waterville UMC for hosting us once again!

Our total raised is now $19,186.68! We're so grateful for everyone's support! ***********

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

We cannot not fully express our gratitude for supporting our water project and our tenth anniversary show, Fools. We set out to raise $12,000 to dig a well in Africa and thanks to our many loyal patrons, the congregation of the Waterville United Methodist Church and two significant donations by the Waterville Rotary and The Zion Lutheran Church of Waterville we completed our fundraiser with an astounding $17,536.68. God is so very good!

That means your wonderful support fully funded our shallow well project in Kwa Mutunga, Kenya, but also provided enough funds to build a rainwater harvesting system and hand washing station project to be located at a school near the same region. It has been an absolute blessing to see what God can do with the theatre gifts we offer. We are truly humbled by the amount of spiritual and financial support, the 1000 + bags of groceries donated over the years and the giving hearts of our volunteers each and every year. We ask that you continue to pray for these water projects and for the impact they may have on the local communities in Kenya.

Finally, it has a been a real privilege working with the folks at The Water Project. Even though our donations from the next show in March will be be distributed to three local food pantries, we encourage each of you to consider donating to The Water Project in the future. They are 100% accountable with the money and even the smallest gifts can make such a big difference. We also hope someone else might be inspired to begin a water project fundraiser of their own. It doesn’t have to be big, it just needs to come from the heart. Take it from us, God can do the rest!

Thank you and God bless,

The Cast & Crew of Theatre-for-the-World

Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

About The Water Project

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.

Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
