After a dragging myself inside after a run today, I went straight for the refrigerator which always has a 5 gallon jug of water that I pay only $1.75 each time I refill it, and in return I get great pleasure from having my clean cold water whenever I need it. It got me thinking about all the people out there that are without a source of clean water, or must hike for miles, just to haul a small amount back home, and realized how fortunate we are on so many levels. We are all guilty of spending our money frivolously at times and indulging in things we don't really need, and often forget that there are people out there, suffering, because they can't get the one thing that we all need: Water. This led me on a quick search of how I could start helping people with even my limited resources and I ended up at The Water Project, and now I am asking you to help, too. For just $10 you can provide one human being with water for 10 years! This is the first time I have ever tried to raise money for anything in my life, and hope it to be such a success that I do it again and again, with higher goals. So come on friends, let's get some wells dug, and get these people some water.
With each donation, you will get access to track the project that your money is going towards so it is a lot of fun to get to see how our small donation is making such an amazing difference in some less fortunate people's lives.
If this cause doesn't seem important to you, then I challenge you to go ONE day without water. If you can do it, I will donate $10 for you.
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
