Help Fund a Water Project

Together, we can unlock potential in a developing community by providing clean, safe water.

Hello! My name is Megan, I am 17 years old and I live in Illinois! On June 26th, 2012 I was given a challenge card at a retreat stating, "Drink only water (not bottled) for an entire year, and pray for those who do not have clean water". I am almost one long year in, and I still cannot believe people in this world still have to go a lifetime without even having clean water! I realize there is not an instant solution to this problem, but I do have hope for our world, that by starting with projects like these, we can make an impact. An old folktale says that a penny in a wishing well grants someone a wish. Please help me grant the wishes of a community in Africa, and let's build a well.

Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

About The Water Project

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.

Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
