My name is Joselyn Arroyo. I am fourteen years old.

My geography class has been learning about how the struggle for water in the world. A section of a movie we saw showed how horrible the water was in Africa. The movie also included the story of a boy just 7 years old, who raised enough money to build a well in Africa. It really inspired me. Something that for me is so easy to get, some people have to walk miles to dirty water. This is their survival. I have to walk maximum just twenty steps to get to water. So, I'm taking action.

Many people ask me," Why?" My answer: "Why not?" I looked up how to build a well in Africa and I got here. Great place. My goal? To raise $2,000 to build a well in Africa. I want to save lives and give people what I have, clean water. I realize I am very fortunate, for not everyone has something so easy for me to get, water. Join me in the movement for clean water for everyone. Don't we all deserve that? To know that I'm saving lives creates a great feeling inside.

Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
