Since I first heard about The Water Project, I haven't been able to get the cause out of my mind. In my house, I can access water through my refrigerator, kitchen sink, bathroom sinks, showers, toilets, the dishwasher, and the washing machine. Clean sanitary water can be acessed in more than 13 places within my home alone! At NO time do I have to walk more than about 10 ft to a water source. Frankly, I'm not sure I would even walk downstairs, or around the block to get a drink of water.
Yet, women in Africa walk 10 miles everyday to fetch dirty, diseased water for cooking, cleaning, and drinking. Moreover, these woman risk abuse and rape every time they go outside to fetch water. My father would NEVER EVER let me out of the house to fetch water if it weren't safe. My mother would NEVER EVER feed me water that may not be safe. I can't believe that halfway across the world parents are facing this every day.
This dosn't have to happen. Water is the most essential thing our bodies require for good health. I've always had access to clean drinking water. Africans deserve this too. Please help me build a well for a community in need. As little as $10 can provide clean water for one person in Africa. Every little bit helps.
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. - Matthew 25:35
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
