One billion people around the world face the daily struggle of water scarcity. Water scarcity is the lack of clean and safe drinking water. Water scarcity is a worldwide issue taking place on every continent. For our senior project we would like to give back to world. It was funny how we came across this topic. One day at the shore we found a pair of shoes that with its purchase, would provide drinking water to an area in need. We know it sounds silly, but since then, we've done our research and found it nearly impossible not to want to do anything about this horrible situation. Water is a vital and essential part of life. In areas like, Sub-Saharan Africa, where water is scarce, children are unable to attend school in order to collect water, and women must spend the majority of their days in search for safe water. The water that is found, usually possess waterborne diseases that kill many in underdevelopment countries. Like us, you probably take water for granted because a quick trip to the refrigerator is a guarantee to water, but imagine waking up every day knowing that you have to walk miles to find something so essential to life. Consider these statistics: 1 in 9 people worldwide do not have access to clean drinking water, and half of the world's hospital beds are filled with people suffering from water- related diseases, By donating to the water projecting you are preventing many people from having to go through this torturing reality of water scarcity, that is only going to continue to get worst. With your donation, the water project is able to provide a struggling town with water filtration systems and wells, that will provide clean and accessible water.
