Help Fund a Water Project
I am participating in a Walk-a-Thon to raise money for The Water Project, a christian non-profit organization bringing relief to communities around the world who suffer from a lack of access to clean water and proper sanitation. What is amazing is how little money is needed to fund essential water projects. A donation as little as $20 will provide a child water for a lifetime. $20 means the difference between life and death, hope and despair. Simply put, the cost to rescue a suffering child from imminent death is less than what one might spend on a large pizza or a night for two at the movies. Not only can we afford to save those without water, but we can no longer afford not to.
My Walk-a-Thon will consist of walking on the treadmill and/or elliptical at the YMCA. My goal is to log 50 miles between the dates of March 1st and April 15th. You can sponsor me by making a generous one-time donation, or you can pledge an amount per mile. After the walk is complete, I will update you with the actual number of miles I walked and ask for your contribution. All contributions are tax-deductible.

Why It Matters
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
