I feel that I have been blessed so much by God because of all that he has given me. I want for nothing and have more than I could ever need. Many times gifts that I ask for at Christmas and my birthday are not things that I need, they are things to make my life more comfortable or fun. After learning a lot about third world countries in a class this past semester, I feel that I cannot consciously accept such gifts without thinking about people in places like Africa who do not even have the bare necessities of survival. So this year I'm asking for donations to provide at least 2 families with fresh water. Please consider doing this- we as Americans have no idea how difficult some people fight each day just to survive.
Date | Donor | Amount | Message |
---|---|---|---|
12/29/11 | Pamela Garland | $10.00 | Happy Birthday, Emily! |
12/25/11 | Carl Byers | $20.00 | Thanks Emily. This is a great idea for your birthday. We are proud of you! |
12/25/11 | Eugene Byers | $30.00 | Merry Christmas Emily |
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
