The statistics are staggering:

  • Nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink
  • A child dies every 15 seconds from a lack of clean water.
  • 115 people die every hour from diseases linked to poor sanitation, poor hygiene and contaminated water.
  • 1 in 5 children who die before age 5 worldwide, die of a water related disease.
  • Children often walk miles every day to collect dirty water to drink.
  • Water related illness kills more people each year than wars and conflict.

  • ..and all because they don't have access to water that is safe to drink.

Many of us are looking forward to setting sail on the 2012 NKOTB cruise. Now think about the millions of people who will never see water as clear and blue as the ocean many of us will be sailing on. That's where you come in. I have seen the power and selflessness of Block Nation and I know that, together, we can make a difference. So what can you do? DONATE! Every little bit will help and even the smallest amount can change the life of someone a world away. I'm asking you, Block Nation, to Set Sail to Save a Life.

    Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

    About The Water Project

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.

Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
