A Drop of Hope for Luwero District
I am fundraising because the water crisis in Luwero District is no longer just a challenge—it is a life-threatening emergency. While Luwero is a place of great history and hardworking people, over 80% of our rural population still lacks access to safe, managed drinking water. Currently, thousands of families are forced to share open, contaminated ponds with livestock, leading to preventable diseases like Typhoid and Bilharzia that take the lives of our children every year.
This fundraiser is for every corner of Luwero. Whether it is the far-reaching villages of Butuntumula or the bustling centers of Katikamu, the need for clean water knows no political boundaries.
My goal is to partner with The Water Project to bring sustainable, deep-well boreholes to the most neglected areas. Clean water is a fundamental human right. By providing a reliable source, we aren't just giving water; we are giving:
• Health: Reducing the burden on our local clinics and keeping families healthy.
• Education: Ensuring girls don't miss school because they are walking miles to fetch water.
• Safety: Protecting women from the risks they face when walking to remote water sources at dawn.
Your gift, no matter the size, goes directly toward the engineering, drilling, and maintenance of these water points. Please join me in this mission to transform Luwero. Together, we can ensure that "clean water for all" becomes a reality, not just a promise.
