Who Are We and Why Are We Doing This? We are a group of students from Oakville Trafalgar High School in Oakville, Ontario, Canada who will be raising awareness and money in attempt to help provide those in third world countries with clean, fresh drinking water. There are two ways that we will try to inform others on the extreme poverty that occurs and leads to the lack of water and food in the places that in reality are not too far from us. Firstly, throughout our nine week civics course we will be fasting for one day, three times which will put ourselves in the shoes of the less fortunate and will allow ourselves to have a greater appreciation and understanding of what these innocent people have to endure everyday. Secondly, we will canvasing door to door throughout our neighbourhoods, educating our fellow citizens on this issue and asking them for a small donation that will create a big change. Finally, we will be promoting and tracking this throughout Facebook to further our fundraiser and continue to spread the word of who we are, what we are doing and why we are doing it.
