Hello everyone,
Our names are Paulina Fenske, Louisa Fowler, Chloe Osborn, and Masha Velikanov. We are from Shorewood Intermediate School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We participated and won first prize in the World of 7 Billion video contest in the Advancement of Women and girls category.
You can find our video here under the "Middle School Winners" heading:

Here is a little background on this specific issue:
So how does our video connect to this topic. Well, right now 130 million girls around the world are deprived of an education. That number has more than doubled since 2003. So, why is this happening? This is because in 45 developing countries, 7 out of 10 households require women and girls to get water. This takes hours, and often replaces their education. By 2050, our population will grow to almost 10 billion. Unless we do something, the number of girls who do not have access to an education will also grow.
As you may already know, The Water Project is an organization that helps provide clean water and clean facilities to communities from sub-Saharan Africa. Donating to The Water Project will benefit girls who are deprived of an education, because it will donate money to create wells or clean facilities closer to or in villages, so girls won’t have to sacrifice their education to gather water for their families. This obviously cannot help all girls and children everywhere who are deprived of education, but it is a good first step to raising awareness and beginning to solve this problem in some areas
We hope you will aid us in fundraising for this amazing cause.
