Help Fund a Water Project

Together, we can unlock potential in a developing community by providing clean, safe water.
Fundraiser

This started off to be sort of 'water awareness' fundraiser.. in which for two weeks I would only drink water, and save the money I would have used on drinks like coffee/pop/tea etc and submit the funds collected. The water ingested would come from the tap, and obviously not bottled or bought from a store, but filtered tap water via Brita. There are several issues I'm highlighting with my fundraising and support: first, children as young as six and seven travel over fifty kilometres to source water from contaminated wells and streams, these children miss school for the basic human right of water, and not even clean water at that. Obviously these children become ill drinking this water, leaving them unable to go to school, or sometimes dying from a source that is supposed to bring life. Secondly, these villages, children, people, BROTHERS and SISTERS need a chance. A chance to grow, to learn and to prosper but without the basic source of water there is no hope for things such as irrigation (crops) and sources of economic wealth. Lastly, the staggering fact that nearly one billion of our six billion (nearly seven) world's population is water deficient. And this is something that I can't stand. So here I am, not just speaking but acting in the only way I know how... let me also take the opportunity here to Thank You for your support, donation or not, the facts are the facts and people need to wake up.

Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

About The Water Project
