Help Fund a Water Project
When's the last time you took a drink of water? How about the last time you took a shower? Flushed your toilet? Washed your hands? Brushed your teeth? Washed your clothes? Left the faucet running? Imagine a world where you couldn't do any of these things easily. Communities around the globe don't have immediate access to clean water so these basic daily rituals are nonexistent. 17,000,000 people don't have any access to clean, safe water in Kenya alone, leading to the loss of more than 10,000 innocent children annually due to PREVENTABLE diseases carried by unsanitary water. You have an amazing opportunity to change this deplorable reality for a community and make a real difference in many lives.
As a part of our 8th grade science curriculum, we are studying the hydrosphere, water quality, and water scarcity. As the Water Warriors of Erwin Middle School, we plan to raise $1,500 to help poverty stricken villages gain access to clean water. All of the money raised will go directly to building a sustainable water project. Additionally, all donations are tax deductible as The Water Project is a 501(c)(3).
With a small number of students in an enrichment group, we will plan a variety of fundraisers to encourage other students, teachers, staff, friends, families, and churches to participate in this great cause. It is my belief that it is vital to the future of our community, country, and Earth to have students make a personal investment in a cause, particularly one that encourages diversity, globalization, ethics, and stewardship. We CAN do this but we need YOUR help to make a difference in the lives of people on the other side of the world!

Why It Matters
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
