A Year Later: Gamalenga Primary School Attendance Improves!

Agnes, 13, shared how things were difficult before she had a reliable water point at her school. "Being requested to carry water to school every day was a big challenge, especially during the drought season. On various occasions, I did feel disturbed, and this did impact negatively on my academics."

Then Agnes explained how the improved water situation at the school has impacted her life over the past year. "This water point is easy to access and is also reliable. Ever since it was installed, we've not experienced any shortage of water. As pupils of this school, we now find enough time for our studies. I foresee major improvement in my academics, and this will make me a better person in society in the years to come."

Teacher Joylene Yonge said, "Accessing clean, safe water in the school compound has indeed solved a major crisis in this community. We can now access clean water within a short time, allowing us to save more time for our class lessons. Right now, cases of absenteeism have dropped due to the availability of sufficient water in the school compound."
