Sharon A., 13, recalled what life was like in her community before their spring was protected last year.
"Initially, we used to fetch dirty water, and people were always arguing because of disturbing the water and making it dirty," said Sharon.
But life is much less stressful for Sharon because there is less conflict between community members in Ebusang'ang'a now.
"Now it is easy, and the waterpoint is a lot quieter and happier. I don't get to hear a lot of arguments nowadays," said Sharon.
Having ready access to water from the protected spring has made a difference for Sharon, allowing her more hope for a peaceful future.
"We do not stay far from here. We did use water from the spring to irrigate the vegetable farm during the dry season in January, which my sister sold in her shop," concluded Sharon
