Lavin M., 11, recalled what life was like in the Chevoso Community before her community's spring was protected last year.
"We fetched water from the surface using a jug and a sieve. After fetching, we used to boil [it and] wait [for it] to cool before using [it] to cook and drink. The water was very dirty with an algae cover on the top," Lavin shared.
But life is much simpler for Lavin and the other community members in Chevoso now.
"We currently don't boil [it] because the water is clean. We feel happy. It has saved the time that we wasted here fetching water," she added.
Having ready access to water from the spring has made a difference for Lavin, allowing her to no longer worry about making their water safe. Lavin and the other community members can now invest their time in life-improving activities such as education and increasing livelihoods.
"We access water easily using stairs. The water is cleaner than ever before and has really improved our health," Lavin concluded.
Right now, there are others in neighboring communities that desperately need safe water access. Your support will immediately go to work to provide a clean water project - and we can't wait to introduce you to the next person you'll help.
