Giving Update: Wamwathi Community

"Mum used to go fetching water using donkeys in far areas. As a small boy, I could not manage the distances involved, and I would be left at home with my grandmother. Mum would later come back home with water," said Mwasi K.

"I am happy now that water was brought nearer to us through this new water project. I can participate in the fetching process because it is near to my home. I usually visit the water point with a 3-liter container and draw water back home multiple times a day. Having water from within is helpful because nowadays, I take a shower daily. I am also allocated some trees at home, which I water daily."

"Nowadays, we have clean water for drinking at home from this new water project. I am happy no more cases of stomach problems as it was the case before. There is regular handwashing at home with clean water to prevent ourselves from the coronavirus which made schools close."
