Every 15 seconds, a child dies because of a lack of clean drinking water.
We can help! This is Fire
Ridge's first year donating to this cause and in the future we are hoping to
get all of the elementary schools in Elkhorn involved! How great would that
be!? To build an actual well it costs around $6,500. If in the first year we
can't seem to raise enough for an actual well, no worries. We will do as much
as we can!
$10 can give one person clean
water for 10 years
$50 can give a family clean
water for 10 years
$250 can give a classroom water
for 10 years
$1,000 can purchase a well
$6,500 can fund an entire
Hopefully in the upcoming years
the community of Elkhorn can help us fund an enitre well project!
Fire Ridge is presenting the
"2 Week Challenge" to all of the students and staff! Check it out:
Give it Up Make water your only beverage...for 2 weeks.
Collect Your Savings
Take the money you would have spent on soda, juice, sports
drinks, bottled water etc., and put it aside to give clean water. Collect your
savings in a cup wrapped with a "The Water Challenge" label.
Wear your wristband It'll help you remember to choose water and to spread the word.
Continue your sacrifice for 2 weeks.
If you are heading toward the soda machine, head for the water
fountain instead. If your family goes out to dinner and you usually order iced
tea, ask for water. It's free. You'll be amazed at how the savings add up.
Encourage your whole family to participate.
Give it Away After 2 weeks, calculate the amount of money saved by your sacrifice and give water through The Water Project!
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
