We are a group of nurses and Healthcare givers that work together regularly on the weekend. We are from Kentucky and Indiana, but we work in Louisville. We have decided to appeal to our family and friends and fellow coworkers to join us, as we work towards bringing life giving water to others. As nurses we recognize the importance that water plays in the human development. Water is important in every aspect of the human body . Water has the ability to raise the human spirit. To empower societies, and renewal communities. Water is life and we believe in order to help promote this basic concept, we must respond to this basic need . As nurses we are called to respond to needs , whether it be local or globally. We are called to respond and impact issues of health. When nearly 1 out of 5 deaths under the age of 5 worldwide is due to a water related disease, something must be done. When we hear that in developing countries as much as 80% of illness are linked to poor water and sanitation conditions , something must be done. When half of the worlds hospital beds are filled with people suffering from water-related diseases, we are compelled to act. According to the World Health Organization, for every $1 invested in water and sanitation, there is an economic return of between $3 and $34. It is an investment in human need and to us there is infinite and exponential value. We ask you to join us , especially during this season of giving, and ask you to help us reach our goal of bringing life-giving water to our adopted patients in distant lands.
