Help Fund a Water Project
Hello! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for The Water Project.
Hunger in Africa is a devastating issue I have learned about in school, during service projects for dance and hockey, and at my church. I have decided to use my passion for helping others to fight against the starvation and malnutrition that many people in Africa are facing. YOU are one of the 7 billion people on Earth. Imagine what we could accomplish if we all work together. I am asking you to consider making a donation so that WE can make a positive impact on solving hunger in Africa.
All donations will be given to The Water Project, a nonprofit organization that provides rural communities throughout Sub-Saharan Africa with clean water. The Water Project determined that 84% of the people living in these areas rely on agriculture for food; however, it is difficult to produce a good crop without a useful source of water. They also explain that women and girls have to walk miles on end to find water that is often contaminated with water-borne diseases, which is making them, their families, and communities sick. The Water Project helps by providing wells, sand dams, rainwater collectors, hygiene and sanitation stations, or spring protection systems to communities in need. Why It Matters
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
