Hi this is Ben Witmer and tomorrow I am having a bake sale at Second Saturdays at Sonnewald at 1516 Lefever Lane Spring Grove PA 17362 from 10 am - 2 pm. I am baking brownies, cookies and muffins and each item is 50 cents. I am having this bake sale to raise money for my 2nd grade class project at York Academy Regional Charter School. We are raising money for The Water Project
My goal is to raise $115 so that 5 people at $23 each can have clean water for one year. When people have to spend most of their day often walking at least 4 miles to find water which often makes them sick or they don't find for the day they don't have any time for things like school or play or having things which are just normal for us. One of the facts I found out is the average American uses 176 gallons of water per person per day whereas if they can find it the average African Family uses 5 gallons of water per day. (www.water.org)
Even if you can't make it to the bake sale you can help me by making a small donation and imagining how good my homemade chocolate chip cookies taste!! (ha ha)
100% of the money earned will go to this project. Mom and Dad donated the materials.
Thank you for helping the people,
Ben

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
