As you may know, I briefly worked in the WASH (Water, Sanitation, & Hygiene) sector before moving on to Airbnb and a career in user experience research.
While my gifts are much better suited to my current role, I'm deeply grateful for the time I spent in WASH: for what I learned, for the incredible people I worked alongside, and for the opportunity to participate in work they were so passionately dedicated to.
I saw firsthand the benefits of safe water access, and I experienced the frustration and difficulty of doing this work well. So I'm also grateful for those who continue to do this hard work, and I'm honored to share the news that I was recently asked to serve on the board at The Water Project, an organization that's doing truly outstanding work in this field.
I accepted the invitation this week, just in time to celebrate my birthday with this funding page. So please help me celebrate this year by buying me a drink. But instead of ordering it from the bartender, buy it here, and help The Water Project in their work to provide clean, safe water to the poorest and neediest of our fellow global citizens. Thank you!

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
