In December of 2010, 5 year old Rebekah was watching a video with her Granny about children who had to walk all day in order to provide water for their family. Often the water they would carry back was dirty water. This prohibited the children to go to school. At the time Rebekah was getting 25 cents a day for staying green at school. (The behavior system at school is Green, Yellow, Red) Rebekah decided that she wanted to give her green money to The Water Project at the end of the school year. Over Easter break from school Rebekah decided that she wanted to give more money to The Water Project. So Rebekah sat one afternoon and drew picture after picture. Then she asked if the pictures could be hung on a wall and made into an Art Gallery. She wanted to sell the pictures for $1.00 each. She asked to have the pictures put on Facebook and a video also. All of her pictures sold! So she drew more and those sold and again she drew more and those sold. Rebekah has a heart for these children who cannot go to school because of water. She wants to provide water for them so they can go to school just like her.

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
