Around 800 million people in the world at this moment do not access to clean water and about four million people die each year from a water related disease, whether it is a lack of water or a product of ingesting contaminated water. Almost all of these 800 million reside currently in developing countries, where privileges like plumbing and running water that are taken for granted in the states, are not available, creating unsanitary environments that foster infectious disease and illness. Our mission is to spread the urgency and importance of helping those in need of life’s basic necessity that everyone should be entitled to: an access to clean water. As an interactive project with those who are interested in participating, we are proposing a “two week challenge” (a fundraiser created by “The Water Project”), in which for one week, we will only commit to drinking water and donate the money we save by drinking water (as opposed to drinking soft drinks or tea or other choice beverages) to help construct wells, rain water collection tools, and other innovations that bring people access to clean water.
Please help us reach our goal! Doris Liou, Anna Ju, Jay Jiwoo Kym, and Rakshitha Raju Our Informational Pamphlet: https://www.smore.com/pzxek-dvhs-activate-a-closer-lookDate | Donor | Amount | Message |

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
