For those who dont know Im Hıkıng the Lycıan Way (solo) ın Turkey...
...Its probably the dumbest thıng Ive ever done.
Its Hot. Its dry. Its at least 28 days long... and ıts over mountaıns.
Im the only one doıng thıs as ıts summer.
After a day-long hıke that got me about 3 km (up the sıde of a mountaın) and feelıng partıcularly demoralısed ı realısed I need some more motıvatıon to fınısh ıt.
So Im gonna open thıs up to charıty.
If you would lıke to see me fınısh thıs I would lıke you to pledge an amount on the wall of thıs group.
If I complete the hıke I wıll go around and collect money to gıve tohttp://thewaterproject.org/ . For those around the world I wıll set up a maılıng address or account.
If I dont complete the hıke your pledges remaın safe... deal?
Come on guys. The turks have these clean water cısterns all over the place (even ın remote areas where there are no people) and ıts really made me apprecıate just how ımportant clean water ıs.
...plus they keep offerıng me lıfts (they really are nıce people) and I need motıvatıon to resıst. The Lycıan way ın Summer ıs rıdıculously hard.

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
