Through collaboration and hard work, a group of grade 4/5 GATE students have decided to make difference globally.
The students have been engaged in an inquiry around the Global Water Crisis.
Through research, in-depth discussions, and critical and creative thinking, these students have created a book called One Drop, One Action.
This 20 page book contains information on the growing water crisis, issues around accessible and clean drinking water, and how we can make small changes.
One Drop, One Action also focuses on water facts, water usage, and water consumption. It provides relevant tips and new ideas to help stop the water crisis.
These Nellie students generated the idea to create and sell a book to raise money for an organization. Through extensive research, the group of children decided on the organization called The Water Project.
We have set a goal to raise $1000 to build a drinking well in Africa.
Our action project is not only based on the fundraiser donations. We believe that knowledge is power, and that spreading our message is of equal important.
Through announcements, posters, One Drop, One Action, our website, and community support, we hope to make a difference.
Thank you for your time and support Nellie community!
We will update this page as we sell our book!

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
