In Australia we are so blessed. We take for granted the simple things in life. When we turn on the tap we take it for granted that clean drinking water will be there. We worry about things like organic or not organic we don't worry that our children don't have clean drinking water. We don't worry that our child might be one of the 10000 children to die everyday for water related illnesses but this is the reality in third world countries. The average woman walks an hour to get water in Africa sometimes this can be up to eight hours. Women carry up to 20Kg of water on their heads which can lead to health problems and deformities....
As an individual who feels blessed that these are not issues which even cross my mind in my daily routine and I am so gratiful that it is a situation my children have to endure i would like to help give children, family and communities a chance to a better life. Building a well changes communities. Help give a community a chance for life and help us raise money to build a well and provide cleaning drinking water to hundreds of people.
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
