After recently being reminded how rare it is for most people in the world to turn on their faucet and get clean water, this organization's info landed in our hands.
For a mere $10, you can supply 1 person clean water for 10 years. So here's our challenge to you: Whether you observe Lent or not, give up something for the next ~30 days, and instead contribute the money you would've spent on that to help raise money to build a source of clean water for those who are dying daily from tainted water. If you have a daily trip to Starbucks, brew your coffee at home and donate the $4 a day to this project. If you eat out for lunch every day at work, bring a lunch from home and donate the $5-10 you'd spend 5 days a week. What we'd like to do is raise $2,500. I think it's possible. If we get more, even better! There is an option to specify how the donated money is to be used, and we are specifying for construction costs only.Date | Donor | Amount | Message |

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
