RVA Student Water Challenge
Help Fund a Water Project
By giving WATER CRISIS presentations at area schools, we aim to build awareness, promote global engagement, and emphasize how scientists, engineers, and humanitarians are working together to make a difference for those affected by Water Scarcity. We have also modified the The Water Project's National "Water Challenge" (http://ow.ly/GUTg30e7326) to better fit student life-styles.
What is the RVA Student Water Challenge? You drink only water for a few days. You will save at least $5.00 - this could be donated to help people who live in water scarce areas such as Kenya, Sierra Leone, and Uganda.
Eventually we hope to raise $500, all of which The Water Project will use to help build water wells and provide filtration systems that will give less economically developed counties the sanitary water that they need to survive.

Why It Matters
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
