Psalm 40: 2-3- We have been greatly blessed by the LORD with the gift of salvation, and now our aim is to glorify him and be pleasing to our Maker. We "have been commanded to make disciples of all nations, and if poverty is rampant in the world to which God has called me, then I cannot ignore these realities.

-More than a billion people in the world live and die in desperate poverty. They attempt to survive on less than a dollar per day.

-Close to two billion others live on less than two dollars per day.

-More than twenty-six thousand children today will breathe thier last breath due to starvation or a preventable disease.

'To put this in perspective if this were happening in my community, then every child eighteen years and younger in our would be dead within the next two days." David Platt

As David Platt said, if were going to address urgent spiritual need by sharing the gospel of Christ or building up the body of Christ around the world, then I cannot overlook dire physical need in the process.

As the Richmond Gathering leader, we are not trying to simply meet a temporary need or change a startling statistic; the point is to exalt the glory of Christ as we express the gospel of Christ through the radical generousity of our lives.

Sola de gloria,

The Richmond Gathering

Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

About The Water Project

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.

Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
