Hi, friends, family, and acquaintances,
As many of you have figured out from my Facebook posts lately, I'm not a fan of the ice bucket challenge. While I know all of the money raised is going to a great cause, many people are just doing it so they can post a video of themselves dumping water on their heads. Instead of complaining about it, I decided to do something about it. I was recently called out to do the challenge myself. Instead of doing it, I decided to start this campaign to raise money for The Water Project. The Water Project brings relief to communities around the world who suffer from lack of access to clean water and proper sanitation. While people are dumping buckets of clean water over their heads, there are millions of people walking miles and miles just to get water (dirty water, mind you) for drinking, washing, cleaning, etc. Since I was called out to do the ice bucket challenge and did not complete it, I am donating the first $100 to this campaign. I challenge you, my friends, to join my Water Project Challenge. It does not require you to do anything other than donate whatever amount you can so this wonderful organization can continue its efforts to provide wells and clean water around the world. No amount is too small--even $5 will help if enough people donate. My goal is to raise $1,000, and I know you can help me get there. Thanks, in advance, for your support.Date | Donor | Amount | Message |

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
