The students in Mrs. Chambers’ class are raising money to help the people in Africa have clean water to drink. They were amazed to learn how other students their age are living and could not believe that they did not have simple things such as clean water. The students are using The Water Project as an authentic learning service project. They are creating nonfiction books, posters, songs, persuasive letters, and poems to educate the school and businesses in the community and get them interested in helping. They have incorporated the project into math by working with statistics, decimals, and fractions. The students will also host a fundraiser in which they will sell sports bottles to other students to raise money for a well in Africa.

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
