Most of us aren't aware that, to this day, over three hundred
million people suffer from a lack of access to clean, safe water in Sub-Saharan
African communities. People are dying unnecessarily due to the diseases like
cholera and typhoid fever that they often get when they drink contaminated
water. It is typically women and girls that spend a great part of their day
just fetching water from sources that are often miles away when
they could be doing other things to improve the quality of their life, like
working or studying. Time and money are also lost when the people there get
sick after drinking contaminated water.
If nothing is done about this, people will continue
to die unnecessarily. In addition, the people there will never be able to
significantly improve their socioeconomic situation.
If clean water were available to these people:
For years, I have always wanted to make a
difference in the world but felt ‘too small’ to really do much of anything. The
personal development classes that I have been taking at Landmark Worldwide the
last few months have propelled me to start doing something about the things in
life that matter to me. So, as part of the Self-Expression & Leadership
Program that I am in, I have taken on the project of organizing a benefit
concert or comedy show to raise $100,000 by November 14th so that
The Water Project can install wells in several African communities that don’t
have access to clean water.
The truth is that I can’t do this alone. I need a
community to help carry out my vision. If you are inspired by this possibility
and want to make a difference, please consider partaking on this project.
If you want to get involved, please

If you want to contribute directly to this cause, donations
are also welcome and can be made on this page.

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
