A few months ago, I almost drowned in the ocean during high tide. A surfer heard my struggles, and rescued me. I tried to offer him money, but he didn't want anything. He said, when you go back home, do something nice for someone. So, I did, and the feeling was great. Now my next goal is to not just do something nice, but change somebodies life. This is the perfect way to do it.
In November, my family and I went to India. We visited family but my father took us to the village he was born in. We went to the cotton farm that he used to work on and their was an adjacent well that he used to manually pull water up from. Now the well is bone dry. The people who lived their told us about the water shortage and how it keeps getting worse every year. People in hundreds of villages have to walk for hours each day just to bring water to drink/clean/cook with, and most of the times that water is not clean enough. I then began to do a little research about how many children die each year because of no/unclean water. Each day, while traveling around Mumbai and other parts of the country, I always had a bottle of water with me. Any time I ran out, I was able to pull a 10 rupee note out of my pocket and purchase a 1L bottle. What seemed like a basic necessity to me, was a luxury for a majority of the population. I want to do my part to help people become water secure, and be able to drink a glass whenever they want. Join me in making this a reality. It will be the best thing we ever do.Date | Donor | Amount | Message |

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
