My name is Rachel Parilis. In June of 2013, I will become a Bat Mitzvah. As many of you may know, becoming a Bat Mitzvah means doing a Mitzvah Project. For my Mitzvah Project, I would like to raise enough money to purchase a well for a village in Africa, so they can have the clean water that they need.
Last year, when I was in 6th grade, we spent a lot of time learning about the water crisis and the things that I learned made me very concerned. For example, I learned that many people had go through a dangerous journey just to get one bucket of water to bring home. Often they had to drink dirty water that made them sick. I can't imagine living like this and I don't want them to have to either. Between now, and my Bat Mitzvah in June, I will be asking all of you to help me in my goal of raising $4500.00 to purchase this well. I hope you will be there, not only for me, but for the people who really need you. Thank you so much for your love and support. Rachel ParilisDate | Donor | Amount | Message |

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
