First off, Happy World Water day everyone!
I’m starting this campaign to bring some awareness to the greatest challenge of any region in the World, Africa. The most voiceless people in the world with a population of 330 million, 1 out of 3 people are not using a safe drinking source.
Kenya, Ughanda and Sierra Leone are just some countries where children are lucky to have parents , even luckier if they live past 6 years old. Due to the ongoing stuggle for safe water they die needlessly of dehydration and malnutrition. Which could have been prevented by clean water and proper hygiene.
Thinking about this struggle, it saddens me to think that a young girl (its the women’s and young girls role is to find water) could leave there villiage and walk miles alone, with risk of violence, wild animals, human traffickers and only to end up collecting water that is unsanitary and full of contaminants and dangerous bacteria.
The more I educate myself on this topic, the more I want to help...The clean Water project is a non profit organization that is responsible for 1000 clean water projects in Africa, and always checking in and ensuring everything is still working.
Did you know that $1 In-terms of direct economic reward, invested in water and sanitation yields a $9 return.
Just $750 alone is enough to supply 1/4th of a community water project.
So I hope instead of purchasing your mornings coffee at Tim Hortons that cost $1.77 maybe you would donate $1 to this fundraiser, it really means something . Do something today, someone far away that you don’t know....will thank you for.
Make a donation and leave a personal message!
