Rylee's Campaign for Water

Hello, My name is Rylee Bruno and I am a 16 year old sophomore at Kellam High School. I wandered onto the Water Project's web page while searching for local heroes and found Peter Chasse, the President and Founder of The Water Project. I fell in love with the program and the way it is run. Once one donates to this cause they receive updates about where their money has gone and what it is being used for. I am confident in this programs ability to help those in need as well as helping keep those who become a part of it updated on the impact of their donation.

I believe strongly that everyone has the will to help others. However, this will is only acted upon when it is a convenient time to help others. It takes nothing to say that you will help people in the future. It takes courage to help people NOW. I have not acted on my will to help others as strongly as I am now. Buying someones order who's in line behind you compares nothing to giving people the gift of water and the gift of opportunities. The people who are receiving these water systems in their villages are being introduced to a entirely new way of life that most of us have every day and take for granted. I am participating in The Water Challenge, where I will drink only tap water for two weeks and donate all the money I save on beverages to this cause. I encourage you to take part in the Water Challenge to see how important clean water is and how privileged some of us are to have arrays of beverage options when some don't even have one.

Today, too many children suffer needlessly - walking miles for dirty water that makes them sick. You and I can change that with a simple doantion-big or small- every bit counts.
