At least a billion people drink dirty water everyday and 5,000 children die from drinking polluted water. When pollutants are thrown into the water without adequate treatments to remove harmful compounds, the water becomes dirty and full of disease. Many people have no choice but to drink this dirty water, 37% of these people living in Sub-Saharan Africa. As sad as it is, we can make a difference. By creating wells and providing filters to these communities, we can help save the lives of many people. If we invest in clean water, young children around the world can gain more than 413 million days of health! Right now we are using 70% of our water sources for agriculture and irrigation, and only 10% on domestic uses. It is time that we lend a helping hand. It is time that we think of all the children that are drinking dirty water every day. According to the World Health Organization, for every $1 invested in water and sanitation, there is an economic return of $3 to $34 dollars. With your help, you will allow people around the world to drink the clean, healthy water that they deserve.

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
