Friends and family- we are highly blessed to have the things we have. Its quite easy to keep a blind eye to the realities of this world, and what truly exists outside of our comfortable environments and shells. growing up, I had the luxuries that are not considered normality in many regions of the world. When there is only one small stream that runs through several villages and the stream and rainwater serves for both drinking water and domestic uses, there is a problem obtaining good drinking water. If the villagers are lucky, streams are close by, but in many areas the villagers must carry water in pots on their heads; and there are several miles between the villages and the streams. Even if a stream is close by, the water may be contaminated with diseases such as bilharzia, sleeping sickness, river blindness, guinea worm, and malaria. Besides these, diseases such as cholera, typhoid fever, dysentery and pneumonia continue to kill children in record numbers. One or two boreholes would take care of the water needs for most African villages, but the villages can't usually afford the pumps, or the necessary equipment to have the boreholes drilled. Sometimes there is no ground water and the boreholes are useless; and sometimes the purity of the drinking water from the boreholes is questionable. Please assist me with raising funds with the water project. every single penny goes to help with drilling a well in a village in Africa, where sickness and worse is rampant.
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
